What is it that makes a great red ale?

The best selling beer kit in the UK is Wherry Bitter.

Not the most popular in Ireland. Why?

If we were to make a new one from scratch, how would it differ?

New NHC posting rules restrict the freedom to discuss issues like this.

So, if we were to make a better Red Ale kit, how would it differ from the ones you are familiar with?

Tips please. Red ales are great session beers?

So the question distills down to:
- what would it take to get you to move from your favorite read ale to a better one?

Hmmmmmmm. We can do it.

Sorry but I have to correct you there and think its poor form that you would make a statement like that on this forum.

Homebrew shops had an advertising platform with complete free reign on the NHC and no commercial cost attached to any of the direct publicity made.

That opportunity for direct marketing to your exact customer base was abused by a bombardment of infomercials and unhelpful criticism of each others products and offerings and now all Homebrew shops posts have to be structured and relevant.

I suspect the moderators on Beoir would implement the same policy if that type of behaviour became prevalent here.

Maybe "restriction" was the wrong word to use. The NHC have been very helpful and I don't mean anything negative. Far from it, its a great forum.

Recent NHC changes though mean only one thread per week in the "For Sale" section, and I'm not sure if posting this thread would now be allowed there. I think that's unfortunate because we really need your help to develop better products; I think this would benefit everybody?

We are also finally getting around to crushing our own grains, and again we will need your advise to prioritize the most popular types.

Forgot to mention:
Free "little bottlers" (bottling tap plus filling stick: turn a pail into a bottling bucket), with Beoir discount code when you order 3 or more 3+ Kg beer or cider kits, regardless of the brand. And regardless of other offers . . .

You don't have to do anything, the packers will simply add the free items to your order.#

These offers are always open to both forums, if we neglect to post them on both then its an oversight so please let us know.

Brian but what you want is nowt to do with "for Sale" is it?

As an affiliate member you can can post in any suitable forums!

For example as you want to discuss a recipe for a new red ale:

Post in General, Wanted(a recipe!), All-grain, Extract, Kit (pick whichever is suitabler of the last 3) or even in your local club forum.

You are NOT excluded from the other fora!
