I bought this one a while back and it has given sterling service.

It has been unseasonably warm, BITR, but not quite that warm.

I had one of those and it ended up doing almost exactly what beeristhereason is describing. I am back to glass too.

Come to think of it I was worried that my flights would be taken over by terrorists armed with bottles of Ballygowan and nail clippers. Because then I would have to break my lovely thermometer and fight them with it

I've had 3 digital thermometers. After a couple of brews they each reported ambient temperatures akin to Queensland. I've got to say it was bit cold in the shed wearing surf shorts and drinking 4X in the middle of winter.

I now have a dial thermometer poking through my mashtun, a floating "mash thermometer" which I use to measure sparge water etc. and the trusy bog standard one, all of which read differently. Makes you wonder how we can control mash temperature doesn't it?
