Water for Homebrew Beer 17 years 2 weeks ago #1

Hey Folks

Just a Simple Thing like water quality can make a hugh difference to your brew as i found out.

Over the past few months ive tried different types of water ,a friend of mine has a well ,nice clean water which worked a treat ,, my own water is terrible ,and i cant access the well easly so ......

i found Tesco have 2lt bottles Water very good 39c a bottle.

Ok here is the question ?

Have any of ye used Campden tablets to clean yer water ,if so whats the best way of doing this and does it really make a difference to the finished product ..

I have these tablets ( which i got from Homebrew company Great suppliers i have to say and very helpfull-thanks shane) and want to use them but affraid ill mess up my Brew if i use them wrong .

Thanks
Mark

Don't worry, there's nothing to mess up. Just crush up the tablet and let it sit in your water to neutralise the chlorine. It will work within minutes.

You can use 1/2 a tablet but a whole one won't do any harm. Just remember to crush it, your water is ready to brew with almost instantly.
