Homebrewcompany.ie beware? 17 years 1 month ago #1

I spotted that these guys:

Are selling this stuff:

Could be handy for bits and pieces.

Yes I know it's different on my blog.

You'd wonder how many people will be converted to brewing by the cheap and nasty kits but it's still a move in the right direction. Nolan's Hardware Shop in Clontarf do something similar, handy if you need a new fermenting bucket for example.

So: what are the bare essentials that a shop predisposed to stocking homebrew gear should sell?

Really, we should have cards or leaflets of some sort which we can give to such shops to hand out to punters who buy stuff.

I just did a little field trip to Nolan's as I was in the area and their stock has diminished to almost zero.

In terms of what a shop selling homebrew supplies should sell thats's a more difficult question and would be determined by stock turnover. If turnover is slow I wouldn't be inclined to buy too much ingredients, especially if stored in less than ideal conditions. Equipment such as fermenters, airlocks, tubing etc. would be handy. I appreciate that some ingredients would need to be in stock to complement the equipment but I wouldn't be buying it myself.
