Man, the publican lobby have some serious influence in this country. We'll have no choice but to drink in their pubs and buy from their attached off licenses.

I'm sure the VFI would love that.

So now to have a decent party you have to drive around to 10 offies buying a little bit in each one and hoping they don't offer to carry your bags to the already full boot. Yeah that'll work. Same as how you can't buy paracetamol in more than 12 tablets at a time, but you can go to 10 pharmacies/shops/supermarkets and get 120 in an hour anyway. There are too many stupid stupid stupid people running our country - they should be all given 120 paracetamols.

I'm guessing that "responsible serving" will mean you can't walk out with a tray of cans under your arm, but you [i:gmj2id6u]are[/i:gmj2id6u] permitted to buy as many cases of Burgundy as you can fit into your BMW X5.

It'd be worth pointing out that maybe the responsible sale of alcohol through "specialist" off-licences would be facilitated by not having a huge barrier of entry. Which basically means in order to justify the outlay on acquiring a licence there is the need to have increased turnover and therefore increased volume of alcohol sales.

Yet again the road leads back to the insane licencing laws.

We've already created the superpub phenomenon, bring this in an we'll soon have the superoffie phenomenon.
