I have always found that about Magills though. I buy date cake and chocolates and high sugar items from them alot (rationale being there is enough sugar to preserve it) that are short dated very cheaply.

I got a large box of vanilla sugar there too for 3 euros, I know I can make it, but for 3 euros, and it can't really go off as you said.
Worth a look in for the offer basket at the moment anyway, although I do find I hanker after that huge leg of serrano on the counter.......someday <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->

sorry old topic i know but there is a shop called little italy on bow street off bolton/kings st in dublin that do wholesale but are also open to the public. they do double milled 00 flour as well as coffies, oils herbs, hams, sausage ect well worth a look.
they have a website somewhere detailing opening times and exact location. also there is parking behind them of a little lane with a loading bay if you like me buy your flour ect in bulk as i live in balbriggan.

Thanks! Little Italy are one of our suppliers in the pub, so I will keep an eye out next time I am there!

Superquinn carries Odlums Strong White (which is bread flour) and Balchedre Mill.
