Have a craving for some fish so gonna hit howth in the morning. I was thinking of doing a beer batter. Anyone recommend a beer to use?? I was personally thinking hoegaarden because of the lemony flavour it has but i'm open to ideas!!

The beer in beer bater is mostly used becuase the bubbles lighten the batter, you can also use sparkling water,

I'd go for a very high carbonated beer to get the lightest batter, the taste doesnt really come through that much

Yeah you're better off using bottled water and drinking the beer. Same results AND you get to drink the beer. Win win really!

you've inspired me now, their's a beshoffs at the top of my road, im headin up to get a fresh cod and chips and then a quick stop in odd bins for a few bottle of o'haras, NICE <!-- s:P --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" title="Razz" /><!-- s:P -->
