TOPIC:

Time to start working out the logistics of the DART pub crawl for the nicer side of the city.

So far I'm thinking start in Gibney's in Malahide, the DART to Howth Junction and change for Howth and a pint in The Bloody Stream.

DART to Raheny for lunch and some Dungarvan beer in McHugh's wine and dine. Then DART to Killester for Harry Byrne's pub. Walk to The Yacht in Clontarf, and then DART to Connolly for The Black Sheep.

6 stops so far. Any further suggestions appreciated.

We began the summer period with the southside pub crawl, what better way to bookend it than with it's northside counterpart some time in September.

Sounds good. As a resident and long time Gibneys drinker I will have to check them out.

True story follows:

When I first came here looking for a job I had an interview in Malahide for 2:30.

I was staying with the Mother in law in Rathfarnhan so got bus to Malahide with loads of time to spare.

So: Question: 40 mins to kill before interview and its lunch time what to do?

Answer: Go for a pint! and for some reason I chose Gibneys.

Two weeks later I started work at Captec!

PS: For the PC crowd "OMG you drink at lunchtime before an interview" this was more than 20 years ago and a pint at lunchtime was normal!!

A lunchtime pint is still pretty normal in England. And for most of continental Europe.

Is it not pretty normal for city centre workers who don't need to drive? I know I would if I could!
Something to look forward to in the morning and something that eases you in to the second half of the day.
Makes perfect sense.
