This came via Westport Town Council who are organising a beer festival at Westport House in September. It looks like they're still looking for exhibiting brewers.
[quote:5qybob0b]Calling all brewers.
Legend would have us believe that Ireland’s famous Pirate Queen, Grace O’Malley or Grainne Mhaol while plundering the high seas was partial to a jug of the finest ale. Now as part of The Pirate Queen Festival, Westport is hosting its very first Beer Festival and what a better name to call it than – The Grainne Ale Festival. It all takes place over the weekend of September 13th to 15th 2013 on the grounds of Historic Westport House. It is hoped to have the very best of Beers and Ales from craft brewers both here in Ireland and overseas.
While showcasing great brews, we will be offering brewers the opportunity to promote, sample and sell their product, we will also have some artisan food producers also on site during the event. It is also our intention to award one of the beers/ales with the Grainne Ale seal as the public’s favourite beer at the event.
The Pirate Queen Festival is a celebration of Grace O’Malley and will feature a wide ranging
programme from Traditional Yawl races on Achill to a female Adventure Race on Clare Island together with tours music and medieval banquets all along Clew Bay.
