Ok so I guessing that everyone needs a tent and all the trimmings?

In any case I need an excuse to buy a new tent![/quote:4chybl7j]

so will we need to dig litreens and find kindling on the side of some god forsaken mountain to start a fire by rubbing two damp sticks together <!-- s:roll: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_rolleyes.gif" alt="" title="Rolling Eyes" /><!-- s:roll: -->

Camping brewday anyone?

My preference here would be Salthill I think, was at the Dungarvan one last year, good craic, but change of scenery might be good. Also stayed at Garretstown Cork a few times, steep but its flat up top, and has a lovely beach down the road. I would like to suggest Keel on Achill Island, campsite right on the beach, scenery amazing, don't think theres any craft beer around, so you'd have to fill the car up b4 going. Maybe we should "suggest" that any beer brought on the camping trip "should" contain a certain % of Irish Micro beers?? 50%?

Salthill would be my preference too. This is the only campsite I can find there, anyone stayed at it before?

I remember there used to be a nice campsite in Barna that I stayed in a few times, but it seems that it is no longer in business.

Salthill FTW.
The Oslo is almost on your doorstep, well after a 15 minute walk I reckon.

I have stayed there but it was a long time ago so I will treat it as if I have not because I remember nothing about it except where it is.

One other suggestion for Cork is Blarney[/url:3ayjxusf]. There is a nice campsite but it's a bit out of the way and way up the top of a hill. It's about 2.5KM from Blarney which is a nice walk going down but a killer going back at night up the hill.
Perhaps a taxi from Blarney would be good.

There certainly used to be some beers from the well available but Taf said that might not be the case anymore. Either way, there is a regular bus service to Cork city. Blarney is very close to the city.

As to when? I vote a weekend after July 18th but ideally not a bank holiday weekend as I am on call for all of those this year.
