A great IPA from Shiny last night I thought, I really enjoyed the coconut flavour in PhilGill's stout. Have you a recipe up, Phil?

Great meet last night. Great range, loved the Amber Ale, couple of the stouts going around, and Partridges English Ale Experiment was interesting.

Just wondering who was the culprit that filled out my crossword...was saving it for the bus home!

Thanks for the comments guys. Really glad it didn't kill anyone let alone that you enjoyed it

Here is the recipe for the Coconut Stout

2500g LDME
500g Wheat Dry Extract
300g Oatmeal
250g Roast Barley
250g Crystal Malt
400g Chocolate Malt
250g Lactose

60g EKG 60 mins
45g Fuggles 30 mins

WLP004 - Irish Ale Yeast
ABV approx 5.5%

For Secondary I roasted 250 grams of dessicated coconut in the oven until it turned a deep brown colour. Dry hopped with this for 2 weeks approx.

I forgot that I primed with one part maple syrup two parts brewers sugar. I felt the maple sweetness would work well with the coconut

Had a great night also, met a load of new people and had some fantastic beer.

I think the next time I will print out the attendance list so that I can take brief notes on peoples beers. <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->
