Yes, in some way I think the non home brewers would be more confortable in a non home brewing meeting. Even though I'd like to attend to home brewing meetings too when it is possible.

-Is this simply a matter that we're not allowed to bring in home brew or that it's not the general focus for these?

I think there's some good palate training activities that would be great to do at these meetings that will not be possible without the ability to bring in a home brew or two every once in a while. (Flaw identification, multiple single-hop tastings, etc...)

I have 5 single hop pale ales that I could easily have available for this date to do a side-by-side tasting of 5 different American hops, if it's something people wanted to do/we could do. (Amarillo, Citra, Simcoe, Cascade, Galena)

-If we can't, we can't but I figured I'd at least ask first.
(We can do it another date at my house instead if this isn't the right venue (I know Dun Laoghaire is a pain to get to from some parts of town, but I live right across the street from the DART.).)

Still not sure if I can make it to this one yet as I'm still snowed under with college, but might sneak in later at some stage!

If this isn't possible at this meeting I'm inviting myself to Chateau Adam, for the tasting!

I did discuss this with AtG and they are happy to go along with ideas like this. Sure Adam, if you want to bring the ales along, I'll talk to them about getting glasses and such.

With respect to Andrew (who posted this idea), I thought the idea of these meets (as distinct from the ICB "taste and share homebrews" meets) is that enthusiasts get to meet up and drink a few craft beers and talk about craft beer. Nothing more or nothing less.

i agree, shouldn't that be left to the home brew meetings
