Manchester Winter Ales Festival 15 years 3 months ago #1

I always forget about this festival as it comes so close after Christmas. I'm still not sure if I'll end up going but I did notice that there were cheap day trips to Manchester available with Ryanair on the Thursday though it would make for a very long day as the flight is at mad o'clock in the morning.

Details of festival here -

We have our own winter ales festival down in Cork the following month. See the Calendar for more info.

Going to one in Chelmsford in Feb as part of a stag. It looks great but it's no GBBF!

(Bump!)

Managed to make this last Thursday. Gigantic selection of cask ales and a great variety with most styles being well represented. 80p for a half-pint (which were actually consistently generous third-pint measures) so fantastic price-wise also. Definitely recommended.

...now if I could just get the taste of hops out of my mouth. <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->
