Brewing Demonstration[/url:3mii0pxx]

On Saturday the 24th July we will be running an All Grain Brewing Demonstration at our premises at Unit 12A, The Bay Road Business Park, Mountmellick, Co. Laois. The demonstration will start at 10am and will finish around 4-6 hours later. In this demonstration we will brew an ale using malted barley hops and yeast. All are welcome but the numbers will be limited to 20 places. There will be a 5 euro fee to cover running costs and food on the day. If successful we hope to run a series of these over the coming months.

Not sure if this is the correct place for this so mods please move if so.

This is my first post. I went to the demonstration on Saturday and from my point of view it was a success. I've only ever brewed a few kits and I'm looking forward to brewing all grain once some space becomes available for equipment. That shouldn't be more than a couple of months away.

I hadn't been to the home brew company premises before and it was nice to see the set-up and the variety of the stock they have. There was a pretty good turn out. I didn't count numbers or anything but from memory I'd say there were about 12 plus 4 people helping out with demo set up and food.

They (I may or may not have caught some names) brewed an American pale ale using a hell of a lot of hops. Explanations were clear and every question was answered. The down to earth and relaxed presentation style helped to pass the time between different stages of the brew. There were sangwidges and cocktail sausages and a few beers.

I didn't learn a lot that I hadn't already read but I'm certainly a lot more confident that I can do the all grain thing. Plus the chance to get a feel and smell for what's involved is great when all you've done is read. And I reckon this is a great way to meet up with people who share the same interest.
