Had a great afternoon. Great to put a few faces to names, and reckon I'll be back in Cork for a meet up or the Breakfast Club soon enough.
Fair play to all the Cork boys for organising and hosting the day (and making me feel very welcome), and credit to TBN and sbillings for keeping the show on the road.
Fair play also to Spud 395 for makin a day trip via bus all the way from Wexford. Dedication.

Glad you liked it The recipe for that blonde is here[/url:2g62auf6] (must double check that was the final recipe...), and a discussion on how it was brewed is here[/url:2g62auf6].
I know certain others liked it too, I only went home with the dregs of the minikeg.

All in all a great event, well done to all

Further to previous comments made I think the Expo worked out very well and shows that as a small community how we can arrange such an event with so many members giving so readily of their time and their beers to encourage and assist others who are thinking of brewing their own beers.

I must of course firstly give a big Thank You to Shane and the Crew in the Franciscan Well for hosting us and giving of their premises so willingly and accommodating us in every way they could. Also special thanks to Peter and most especially Paudie on the day who could not do enough for anyone – a big thank you to you all. We are most fortunate to have such a great establishment and crew in the Well who are so willing to accommodate us without any financial gain on their part either.

It was also great to have Shane from Home Brewing Company who brought quite a large range of stock down as well as donating two kegs of ale and stout which were both lovely as well as sample bottles of wine. Thanks again Shane for coming down. Great to know that you enjoyed the day and the night!!!

Also great to meet new members and potential members on the day. MAF, as mentioned previously, brought a lovely Blonde ale in a mini-keg which was really great. I know you commented that we would be seeing you again which I am sure we will. Great to met you Mark. I also spoke to a few new and potential brewers so hopefully we may have a few new local members.

A big thank to everyone who supplied beers on the day – Taf, Beernut, GrimRob, MAF (as previously mentioned) amongst others. Taf’s Dunkelish was very nice and also had some amazing ciders – Hedgerow cider was superb I thought – well done Billy! Beernut’s Chilli Stout was definitely very different – I don’t; think I could drink a pint of it!!!!!!! His Pale Ale was really nice too.

Paudie and Wallacebiy did brews on the day so hopefully they will work out o.k. They were doing a lot of work on their brews whilst many others of us were sampling – tough on some people. Well done guys. I think it was also very beneficial for potential and new brewers to see an actual brew in progress using homebrew equipment that one could procure at home.

At then end of the evening when tidying up / clearing the decks I took away an amount of unopened bottles which I propose keeping until our next tasting session which Can I suggest we hold maybe in a month to six weeks’ time - better not clash with any big World Cup matches!!

I will list here which bottles I have and would appreciate if anyone could say whose/what beers they are so we will know same for our tasting session.

1 btl of Sandstone Pale Ale 5.8% from TheeBeernut
1 btl marked Brown ale 4.3% dated 6th March – similar cap and bottle to the above
One bottle with letter P on cap, goldish coloured cap, 500 ml bottle
Two bottles with letters MH on cap, goldish coloured cap, 500 ml bottle
Three bottles with nothing written, goldish coloured cap, 500 ml bottle
(all above are similar bottles/caps - ? all from Beernut Brewery???)
One bottle with no details,, red coloured cap, 500 ml bottle
Three Brown plastic bottles with Coopers Homebrews tops on them – no details.

It would be nice if owners could throw some light on the above rather than us doing fully blind tastings!

Thanks again to everyone who contributed in making Saturday’s Expo a most enjoyable day.

Cheers Beernut - looks like your encyclopaedic beer knowledge has sorted out all of the above.
