Just heard about this total sausage fest happening this week in Dún Laoghaire. It's organised by the Slow Food Movement. You will need to book via the e-mail below if you want to go.
[b:16l7tdnu]Bangers & Beer[/b:16l7tdnu]
Date: Thurs 11th February 2010. @ 7pm
Venue: Hick’s@ rear 15A, George’s St, Dún Laoghaire (Behind TSB Bank)
Cost: members €22, non members €27
The SugarLoaf Club[/url:16l7tdnu]'s next event is a relaxed visit to a sausage kitchen with a walk through and sampling of four sausage types, cured, fresh, cooked and hot smoked tasted alongside some really cool boutique Belgian, Russian and German beers.
First we’ll get to taste cured pork and venison “Mettwurst” style sausage laced with gin and juniper.
Then we move onto “Münchener Weißswurst”, a pale white southern German sausage, seasoned with pepper, mace and lemon zest.
Following is a coarse cut grilled “Salsiccia”, an Italian sausage with fennel.
Lastly, we’ll have hot smoked “Wiener” sausage straight from the smokehouse. Pork with garlic, pepper and beech wood smoked.
All served with suitably matching micro brewed beers from our continental cousins Kick back, have a cold one and munch on some of the BEST WURST!
You’ll also get to take home a pack of Bratwurst sausages and 2 beers!
