7? That's a bit crap. What time does it start (yeah, too lazy to try to look it up myself, despite the fact that I could have done so while typing this).

Trip to Copenhagen 15 years 11 months ago #46

So I made it to the Copenhagen Beer Festival on the Friday evening, day 2. More breweries than i've ever seen in one place. Had to Run straight to the Norrebro stand. My favourite beer of the whole weekend was their "Pacific Summer Ale", great smell of hops from it. Liked their Raspberry beer also, but not their "Red" that much. To be honest I thought there would be some places to sit, which would have made it more enjoyable. We did the rounds for a couple of hours and tried a few more beers, before the (not)big drinkers I was with wanted to move on. So we kept some tokens for the following evening. we headed back into town where we went for streets noodles (very nice) and then into Brewpub for a couple.
Had their "Doonsbury" which I didn't like at all, called it an early night after that.

Following day after we rented bicycles and saw some of the city, I visited Barleywine Beer shop, picked up a coffee stout "Raasted", 2 Mikkeller, and a couple of others for take home. Then we hit Lord Nelson as recommended somewhere, pretty small and dead, but had a nice wheat beer from Svaneke i think.
After that we discussed not going back to the Festival (which later on when home I was sorry) but we got some cans and made our way by bike over to Norrebro Brewery. How could i forget how expensive this place was after my last visit a few years back. Couple more take aways here, then planned to move onto Plan B (recommened by jspruit?) but along our merry way we overheard a reggae street party, so we locked up the bikes, purchased a few more tins and joined in. At that stage we would have joined in on anything i think..

Next day, before home, more sightseeing and one last drink, a Pilsner in the Apollo Brewery outside Tivoli, nice place, there was a choir in at the time, all in white singing ABBA and all, and saw a few half empty growlers downstairs, wonder have they taken off in Denmark?
