Paulaner Oktoberfest @ IFSC 16 years 6 months ago #1

So anyone been to this [url:1v3dffrd]http://www.dublinblog.ie/2009/10/07/oktoberfest-overkill/[/url:1v3dffrd]?

And is it any use? I'll be in town tonight anyway, definitely seems to be worth a look in.

I heard there was a 100 metre queue to get in last night and you can only get Paulaner

Well that doesn't sound very promising.

Was there on Saturday before the match. It was actually alright for what it was.
Good atmosphere and nice enough food. Ridiculously expensive compared to a similar fanfest thing I was at in Stuttgart a couple of years back, but that's Ireland for ya!

That queue was to get onto the little island, which had the same things as on street level, plus a band. Still can't figure out why people would wait for that.

But, yes, as has been said - Paulaner and few kinds of sausage and that's about it. For my money, the Christmas market in Belfast is far better - both for faux-German atmosphere and beer!

Did the title [b:qtvperyv]Paulaner[/b:qtvperyv] oktoberfest not give you a hint ?
Just like in Munich the Paulaner festzelt only sells their own Oktoberfest beer.

They were only selling the Masskrugs in the big tent – plastic 500ml glasses only at street level.

Probably because it’s on their door step and is a lot cheaper than flying to Munich .Most of the people there it was the closest they will ever get (or want to get) to the real thing.
