Just spotted this while I was googling. Anyone at it last year, don't see it in "our" calender this year.
More and more festivals, great, soon we'll be like the States, beer festivals everywhere..

I was there two years ago. Meh. It's not an Irish beer festival the way Franciscan Well or SeptemberFest are -- it's mostly just importers and distributors selling beers you can get elsewhere cheaper.

There was a good atmosphere, and I'd go again if it were local. But it's not worth crossing the country for.

Looking at the beerlist they have over 70 beers. Only one of which is Irish. I wonder what the badirishbeerfestival would look like?

I wonder what's with the new nomenclature: "Galway Beer Festival in association with Great Irish Beer Festival"?

Yea but its not really prompting local craft beer, unlike what the US and UK do

Yup. Just like the out-of-the-box Paulaner Oktoberfest which Heineken runs all over the world. Back in Dublin from 8-18th October this year, but I doubt you'll be seeing it on our calendar either.
