Note to self, don't drink all my beer next year so I can enter. In fairness I would not have won since mine ended up more of an English pale ale than an IPA.

Still third place would have done me <!-- s:wink: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt=":wink:" title="Wink" /><!-- s:wink: -->

congrats! ditto on bigears' IPA if it's the same one I tasted. Yours must have been very good to be deemed winner! that pale ale was definitely of a very high quality!

Will we be seeing any of these award winning recipes on the recipe forum soon?

Mine is the same beer I brought to the August tasting[/url:1ek5uy7v]

For an award winning recipe we'll have to wait for Delboy to post his <!-- s;) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink" /><!-- s;) -->

Well here goes, its a simple enough grist just MO and crystal, yeast is US-05 so its all about the hops.
Its actually my attempt at something approximating goose island IPA, hence its orginal name Ge Innis. It was renamed missisipi steamboat for the competetion as i wanted to convey that it was an american style pale ale and i thought the name sounded quite nifty.

MO 5.2 Kg
Crystal 0.3 Kg

Mash at 65 C for 90 mins

50g cascade 90 mins
10g amarillio 90 mins

15g of cascade 15 mins
15g of amarillio 15 mins
15g of fuggle 15 mins
15g of stryians 15 mins

20g of cascade and 10g of amarillio steep at 80C for 20 mins.

Fermented with US-05 at 18C in temp controlled fridge.
