Beer festivals Where and when ? 18 years 11 months ago #1

Does anyone know if there is a site that lists all the upcomming festivals in Europe? I rememberI went to Ghent 2 or 3 years ago, the entire town was in party mode ( Duvel was the main man at that festival).
There are probably festivals all over Belguim all summer. Also in Bavaria but its hard to track them down. I have been to the Octoberfest on many occasions the crack is great but its really a bulk drinking job. There is supposed to be a spring festival that is meant to be great. I hear the Berlin festival is much more laid back.
Ideally if people had a festival near to a ryanair airport!!

I found this for Belgium: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="www.visitbelgium.com/beer.htm">www.visitbelgium.com/beer.htm

And some in the UK:
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="www.beerguide.co.uk/fests.php">www.beerguide.co.uk/fests.php

And CAMRA of course!
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="www.camra.org.uk/page.aspx?o=events">www.camra.org.uk/page.aspx?o=events

Might add some of these to the calendar <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->

I've been asked to invite you all to the Scottish Traditional Beer Festival in Edinburgh 14-16 June. More details here: [url:2u73o8v1]http://www.scottishcraftbrewers.org/schedule.htm[/url:2u73o8v1]

The festival is organised by Camra and, as well as a large number (100?) of commercial real ales, has a Scottish Craft Brewers stand where we offer free samples of our produce to the general public and attempt to encourage them to take up craft brewing. We usually have minimal success in this respect but we certainly get good feedback and we are often told that our beers are superior to the commercial stuff!

If you want to make this an excuse for a visit to Scotland you'd certainly be welcome to help out at our stand and/or bring some samples of your own brews along.

If you check out the archives section of the SCB web site for the last few years you'll get some idea of what these meetings have involved. [url:2u73o8v1]http://www.scottishcraftbrewers.org/archive.htm[/url:2u73o8v1]

Cheers, Les

That sounds bloody excellent Les. I haven't been to Edinburgh for a couple of years now and would love to make a trip that didn't involve work! Unfortunately, for me at least, I won't be able to make those dates. Have a wedding to attend here in Dublin. <!-- s:( --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" title="Sad" /><!-- s:( -->

I'm sure someone from here would love to go though! I've added it to the calendar. <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->
