I just had a chat with Aidan and he is very open to this idea, even with the numbers that now seem interested. The only problem at the moment is arranging a date as his schedules are demand driven at the moment and he wouldn't be able to commit to a date a long way in advance. Later in the summer season he'll be able to plan more in advance and, as Ken said, move a brew day to a weekend. Maybe this would be a good time to catch up with him.

Whatever suits Aidan is good for me. He's the host!

Yeah I agree. I'd be open to a friday either, he's the man with the fancy toys, we have to play to his schedule

I never thought when I started homebrewing that something like this would be possible. This is a world away from a certain big brewery's tour which is all flashing lights and not a hope in hell of talking to a brewer, never mind engaging with us to this degree.

I'd love to see a brewery in action. I'd probably do the drive so I'd have some spaces in my '95 Fiesta

Indeed. I've been on several brewery tours around the place, the Heineken one, Guinness of course, also some in Nz - the Speights and Montheiths. Both of the NZ were good in that you actually get onto the factory floor, you can stick your head into a big fermenter, but you only see a very small window in the time-line, not how it all goes together from start of brew day to the end, apart from the drawings on the wall showing it in little baby words for the tourists, who are mostly interested in the free drink at the end anyway!
