Midwinter Solstice 17 years 4 months ago #1

It being the time of gross commercialism, it seems like a good idea to remember what the festive season is really all about; celebrating the long winter evenings! To that end Im having a bit of a bash in Bray, starting around sundown (4.07pm) and finishing around sunrise (8.39am).
While I dont expect everyone to be there for the full party, I'm hoping that some members of this esteemed group can drop in for a festive brew or 2. I'll be in the Porterhouse Bray from around 8.30 to 11pm, but apart from that will be at home. I expect that there will be a few homebrews on offer but feel free to bring your own and hopefully there will be enough different brews to make it a mini-sample night.
Of course if you want to be there for the whole thing, thats cool too

As a pagan I am appalled at the increasing Christianisation of Yule.

I tried to go out and buy my traditional pagan tree, holly and mistletoe last year to find that the price had been driven up by Christians.

The Roman God Sol Invictus whose feast day is December 25th. He is also drawn with an orb around his head the same way Christ is portrayed. And on his feast day gifts are exchanged.

Are none of my beliefs sacred to these plagiarists?
