Hi all

Just entered this site on recommendation from Beernut...look great... just moved to Cork myself and it seems this is the beer capital of Ireland... what better place to be. Anyway I am looking forward to the beer festivals...really hope there will be some great irish beers....defenently the White Gypsy sounds interesting. But do the two festival clash? Or is it two different weekends?
Had a great home brew in Taras in the summer during the festival in Balina...supprisingly good and bitter.... wished there would be more of this great stuff on the market!!!

So I’ve decided to wait a month to make a review.
Well, whaddyaknow.
Anyway.

Great beerfest this year again.
fantastic selection of German beers including a great range of Weihenstephaner Brauerei beers including the Vitus on tap, which is for me their best brew along with the Korbinian(sp)which was also there.
Of course all the usual suspects were there from the Hooker to the O'Hara's and the pilsners and the bottles
The extra stuff was magic as I mention the Weihenstephan, there was andechs selection.
Beer aside there was a great buzz down there, people mingling really enjoying the beer and it was a very sociable event. Live music was good craic.
There was more of a selection here also
I think this fest is turning into the alternative to the Franciscan one. It’s getting messy up there so, I find the Bierhaus more relaxing and not as stuffed with day trippers or more accurately 'once a year bingers'.

I do hope this fest can continue as successfully as it seems to be without the craziness of the Well.
There was more of a selection here also with regards to the beer and as a vegan(yikes) I didn’t have the constant smell of overcooked burgers hanging off my clothes
