Meet and swap 16th March 19 years 1 month ago #1

Congrats to Séan for hosting a very successful 'meet and swap' at his house last night. I think everyone who was there will agree that the quality of beer presented by all the brewers was very high.

…. So, when’s the next one?

I'll second that. The beer and food was excellent. Are we permitted to picks favourites....?

Likewise. It was great to put faces to names (and real names to screen names ) and see what other people are doing. It constantly amazes me how much knowledge this group has. Well, actually I think with three scientists and Séan we had some pretty heavy hitters present so my poor brian was getting bypassed alot

I think by all means choose a favourite! I enjoyed trying every beer (except the smell of the vomity one ), but I think Oblivious' Imperial Stout was very impressive and rivalled/bettered any bottled stout I've ever had. (I can't choose the one I made now, can I? )

My favourite was Oblivious' Imperial Porter too. With Bigears' Cascade APA coming in a close second.

It was very enjoyable and it was a good sign that the time flew by so quickly. Some lovely beers and great food. Another vote for the Imperial Stout but I also really enjoyed the Irish Red - I generally find them quite bland but this one was nice and malty.

edit: Forgot to give credit to oblivious and hendrixcat for the porter and the red. And yes, I did mean Imperial Porter, not stout as I said originally!

Yeah it was a great night. I was really impressed with all the beers there.

My favourite was definitely Sean's Brown Ale
I am going to try something similar for my next brew.
