Sorry John, I wrote a reply a week ago but got distracted by something shiny before I posted it
The format was similar to Easterfest, each brewery running their own bar
Unfortunately it wasn't well supported and most of the brewers I spoke to were a bit disappointed at the turnout. It started to get busy in the late evening for the rugby
However for those of us who like talking to brewers it was a good thing. there was a lot of chatting and mingling in the afternoon before it started filling up
I don't take notes having realised a long time ago that I can't read my writing after about 3 beers
My vague recollection is that there were some really nice beers but nothing that blew my socks off
One that sticks out was a Third Barrel stout with I think cherries and rosewater, refreshing for a stout and very drinkable
I will definitely be keeping an eye out for next years Brewfest, hopefully it will go ahead and be better supported
