So far we have decided that we will be giving out an award for Best Beer 2008 to one of those available at the Franciscan Well Easterfest (Sat. 22 & Sun. 23 March). I suggest that we have two runner-up awards, and that all three be decided based on a numerical voting system.
In addition, it has been suggested that a merit award for "Beer of the Festival" be awarded to one of the beers which has been produced especially for the Easterfest, and that this be decided at a meeting of ICB members at the festival.
Any alternative suggestions so far?
The next thing I think we should determine is how many ICB members will be attending. This will help work out a way of calculating the vote fairly, since not every judge will try every beer. A weighting system to allow for this will depend on the number of judges involved. Could those who will be attending please add their name to the list below as the thread goes along.
Finally for now, the timing: I'm assuming that most of this will happen on the Saturday. Will people be attending on Sunday? Is it sensible or advisable to continue the judging into the second day?
Much to discuss. And sure isn't that half the fun...
