What's typically the cheapest airport in the north of Italy to fly into? I could see a holiday going down well with herself.

Milan Bergamo is usually cheap with Ryanair. Bergamo has a very nice old town as well with lots of nice traditional restaurants.

Cheers Thomas. One of the BJCP examinees from Italy emailed me today, mentioned it. Haven't been north of Rome before, looks like I've missed the best bit (though Sicily is fantastic).
