Goodnight from the ICBF 2014.... 11 years 7 months ago #1

A grateful and sincere thank you to all of those who helped make this an incredible and fantastic event. We tagged more than 12,000 people thru the front door over the weekend- the final number is going to be higher than that given the guest and VIP passes. Special thanks go to all those who did extra shifts, helped out the brewers and those who covered the Toronto and Brasserie Castelaine stands.

To all you volunteers, you were utter warriors. Believe me, your efforts did not go unnoticed, all the brewers I spoke to had great things to say about you guys- and a lot of respect. Also from Bruce and Seamus the festival organisers.

Well done people, I'm proud of you. Beoir's primary aim is to support craft brewing in Ireland; this weekend we did this.

Glad to have been able to participate and help out. It wasn't the first festival for me, but definitely the best in terms of organization and commitment. I've seen happy customers and happy brewers around, with great beer surrounding them: that's the best reward.

My first for both, having missed the past few years so it was amazing to be there and be part of the crew making it happen. Best trade show I've ever been to and thanks to you Andrew for keeping us fed and watered!
It was such a great experience getting to chat to all the brewers (once the door queues died down!) and of course sample their wares!!!

Well done, you should be very proud of the whole weekend

Thank Andrew, it was a pleasure. And fair play to you for all yor hard work, the same goes for Bruce, Seamus, Carly, loads more people whose names I can't remember. Thank you to all the brewers and the food vendors. It's one of the highlight's of the year, and the perfect way to end the summer.

I've said this every year, but I always feel like I get more than my fair share in return from this weekend. I bought €20 of vouchers on Thursday and I still have some left, not due to lack of trying to spend them.

So [i:tnj748ec]that's[/i:tnj748ec] what a passing fad looks like

I know you're not one for self praise, but I'm sure there will be a whole heap of Beoir members who recognise your trojan work in the lead up to this and over the weekend. Well done Andrew (and others, obviously)

Due to some other discussions, this might have been lost somewhat. It's a massive undertaking and it has huge benefits for Beoir as an organisation and, more importantly, our main objectives as a membership-based organisation which aims to support Irish Craft Beer & Cider. It's not just the breweries that recognise our efforts. This year was the first time when i was approached repeatedly by members of the public when I was milling around asking beer-related questions.

So it's nice to see that we, as Beoir, are somewhat recognised by festival goers.

Well done all- hope the volunteers that did the bulk of the work are resting/nursing gargantuan hangovers for their efforts.

Good work everyone and special thanks to Andrew who not only worked every hour possible at the festival (and a considerable amount of time beforehand working out rosters etc!) also put me up for the evening and got me to/from the festival safely. You're a star!

I had a great (and cheap) weekend and got to try over 60 new Irish beers & ciders (but even then missed a good handful )

See you all again next year
