Belfast Ale 16 years 4 months ago #1

Have started to get into the spirit of this years ICB awards and so ordered some Irish beers from drinkstore. Started last night with a bottle of Belfast Ale.

Have to say I was pretty underwhelmed by this. The malt seems to dominate leaving very little room for the hops. There is a little bit of bitterness on the palate but overall the aroma and taste are dominated by the malt and caramel.

Anybody tried this recently?

Still in the fridge awaiting testing <!-- s:wink: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt=":wink:" title="Wink" /><!-- s:wink: -->

Good on yer!

I've not had Belfast Ale in ages. When it's next to Clotworthy Dobbin and now Belfast Black it's hard to pick it up. I should really re-assess it though. I remember quite liking it in the past.
