Beer, Health and Wellbeing 3 years 1 month ago #1

One of the topics that has come up at EBCU meetings recently is the positive role that beer can play in wellbeing, offering a counter-narrative to the consistently negative stance that the various health-based organisations take towards alcohol. Yes there are health problems associated with alcohol consumption, but by and large we drink it because it has a positive social effect and is therefore beneficial to wellbeing.

Claus-Christian Carbon is a professor of psychology at the University of Bamberg and a member of the EBCU executive. He has set out the case for beer having a positive effect on wellbeing in this article: www.beoir.org/articles/46-articles/318-b...health-and-wellbeing
