Jack Carvill's Camden St 12 years 9 months ago #1

Does anyone know why this off-licene is closed. It has been closed for nearly three months. It is my local off-licence and has a great selection of craft beer.

I heard it got water damaged.

"Sold" sign on it now...

That is annoying. There is no decent off-licence around that part of town at all.

Whelan's offie is tiny, but usually carries a decent selection of good stuff. Was never too impressed by Carvill's - too hit and miss in terms of stock. Shame they've gone though, as the blokes running it were top fellas.

There were spotty, it's true, but then seemed to recommit about a year ago, so I'm surprised to see them closed now.

At one time they stocked things I never saw elsewhere - Broughton's from Scotland and Ayinger beers.

I hope they carry on as an offie; they are mentioned in "Ulysses", after all!
