NYC Bars, Brewpubs and Micros 12 years 11 months ago #1

Hi All,

I'm off to New York at the weekend and I'm looking for any advice on good Bars, Brewpubs and Micros breweries to visit if I get the chance. I'm staying in Manhattan but may venture further afield.

cheers.

McSorley's is worth a visit.

I was there a few weeks ago. Here are a few places i enjoyed.

The Blind Tiger at 281 Bleecker Street - gets very busy in the evening but is a really nice spot all the same. Huge selection of beer including a few casks.

Mugs Alehouse - 125 Bedford Avenue. Sports on tv, most beers available in 20oz as well as 16oz. the Allswell diner across the road from here is very good too.

Barcade - 388 Union Ave - great selection, lots of aracde machines.

I've never been to NY but when I go, a visit to Tørst will be high on my list of things to do:

I thought the gingerman was really good, been a while since I was there though

Might be worth checking out the Brooklyn Brewery, think they do brewery tours and also have events on occasionally.

Download this[/url:k3vuz1px].

Special mention should be made for The Pony Bar[/url:k3vuz1px](s) because:
- They pour *only* American craft
- They have a digital menu board linked to the website/app that updates in real time -- what's on the site is *exactly* what's on tap.

You might want to look for Singlecut[/url:k3vuz1px], a new nanobrewery in Queens that's getting a lot of buzz.
