I'm going to check this myself later on, but just wondering if the practise is widespread.

Last time I was in Mulligans on Poolbeg St I ordered a 5am Saint and only realised half-way through that it seemed to be in a smaller glass, sure enough it was a 2/3 pint glass (marked as such), now I hadn't asked for a "pint" so no harm no foul, and I didn't look at the price list to check and as it was part of a round I've no idea how much was charged.

So to eventually get to my question, do many other pubs serve the brewdog beers in 2/3 pint glasses? Had never noticed it before. If so, has anyone seen it listed as such on the price list?

I've not seen it myself but I've heard of it happening. I think the Thomas House does it too.

The main thing is they have to have it advertised somewhere: that they serve two-thirds pints and how much they are.

I've had a 2/3 pint in Against the Grain recently, a lot of their US imports are served that way. Come to think of it, I think the Thornbridge Raven I had on friday was a 2/3 pint. Weird measure, as you have no feeling for the size. A little bit annoying as it kind of hides the price you are paying (4.40 for 2/3 of Raven, that's 6.60 a pint which is a price I'd pay if they let me).

Insert my normal grumble about not being able buy draught beer by the millilitre.

Funnily enough I'd no problem with the practise in Against the Grain because I was made aware of it before purchase and the beers they serve in that size are stronger (in general)and not (generally) available elsewhere, but with the 5AM Saint it just seemed odd as it's not that strong and I've had pints of it elsewhere.

Might ask for a PINT of it tonight to see what's said if anything, will deffo have a gander at the price list too.

I think it comes down to pricing. A pint of 5am Saint costs between 6 and 6.50 around town, some people may balk at that. 4.40 for a glass almost the same size as a bottle (within 15ml) seems more palatable.

I happened (ahem) across a Rogue glass a while back. Look reasonably like pint glasses, they hold 33cl

So if you're buying Rogue beers served in branded glasses, you're not getting a pint

And they ain't cheap! (the beers, I have no idea about the glasses)
