Hello all,

Been a while since I posted, should try harder.

Anyway, I was in Bittles Bar in Belfast recently, they have really improved their selection. Twisted hop, Sam Adams and Copperhead on draught. Also bottles from Ards brewing co. Inishmacsaint and the new Hilden range.

Plus I wanted to give a shout out to DR:NK offsales on the University road in Belfast there. They have a great range of craft beers including the Eight Degrees range.

So any buck tooth, spud pickin, banjo playin, country bumpkins such as myself who are brought into the big northern smoke to be dragged around shops this winter. Give those places a look on your way back to the sticks.

P.S. Yeehaw.

Excellent news! Bittles is a lovely place to drink, regardless of what's on offer.

That sounds like a dramatic improvement. Last time I was in there (about a year ago), the only ale on draught was Mcardles and the place stank of toilet cleaner.

About 10 years ago it was the place to go on a Saturday night when every other pub and club had closed in line with the ridiculous 1am closure ruling. We'd dander in there around 2am and drink till 4am or so, while some bloke who looked like Chuck Norris played a selection of some of the worst hits from the 80s. From the outside it looked like the place was shut.

Dodgy as hell, too, but the Guinness was excellent.

Ahhhh... memories...

I agree, still a fairly old school pub for serving fancy beers.

All the better for it too.

I can think of a few stories myself that time ago in Belfast pubs. There has been some change.
