I attended a function at the above venue this Saturday and how pleasantly surprised was I.

The bar is pleasant spacious and modern with large windows overlooking the beautifully manicured pitch. The function room is the original building, a long room with wooden floors and panelled walls. There is a large catering kitchen through a door in the function room.

The best part was when I went to the bar and found it to have a decent selection of Craft beers including "Galway Hooker", English ales including Abbot and a selection of wheat beers and other world beers.

A quick chat with the managment told me that they are only delighted to have non members drop in for a drink and are always open to suggestions regarding beers to stock. I asked if they would consider getting some Irish craft on tap and was told they have been considering the idea for some time and it could yet happen.

They open from 7pm each evening unless there is a match on in which case they open at 1 or 2pm.

I no longer live in Cork but it may be of interest to those that are lucky enough to still reside in the people's republic.

Call me cynical, but think that Robert222 might be a spammer. Apologies if I am wrong.

back to pub,

the cricket ground is open to public and is good place for a quiet drink with the other half.

Ann the main bar person is very helpful and encourages non members to come in.

Hi, I'm new here, but here are some updates on the Cricket Club and the types of beer available.

For the 2013 Cricket Season beginning in April until Mid September the popular Bengal Lancer, a classic India Pale Ale will be back. Also, Another popular drink at the moment, certainly with the regulars and in stock throughout the year is Old Peculier. Galway Hooker of course is always available.

I will check out what other beers are there and post an update sometime next week.
