Craftbeer in Drogheda! Wm Cairns and Sons. 13 years 10 months ago #1

A new "Gastropub" (God, I hate that term!) has opened in Drogheda in the last week selling actual draft craft beer!!
Wm Cairns and Sons, part of the d Hotel.

From the facebook pictures, it looks like they have lots of craft bottles and three taps, along with all the usual stuff. Can't see what's on draft but one of the lads at work says they have Friar Weisse.
I haven't been in yet, but heard fairly good early reports.
Pity it's stuck to the side of a shopping centre, but according to locals, it is apparently housed in an original part of the old Cairnes' brewery.

That would be a first for Drogheda right? Craft beer?

Yeah, certainly first Irish craft beer on tap in Drogheda.
Eastern Seaboard Bar/Restaurant has stocked 8 Degrees bottles for a while.

From the picture it looks like the usual suspects (including Smithwicks Pale Ale), Friar Weiss, Rebel Red, Dark Arts and possibly O'Hara's IPA

Used to be able to get " Viaduct Beer " in Drogheda about 12 - 15 years ago

Bottled micro produced lager .

I think I drank the last bottle of it in one of the Pubs around 2000 ....
