Any ideas for beer while the girls live it up on the beach?

Love that city, but can't recall anywhere that had any beer worth drinking (but that's not to say it is there).

Even without quality beer, drinking & eating in San Sebastian is one of my favourite things to do. Stick to wine & pinxtos and you'll have a fantastic time. And drop into Bar Nestor for some steak!

find a Sidreria the places you drink cider out of a barrel in the wall ...eat salty cod etc...

amazing city, stay in the old city if you can though the beach on the other side of town is probably a nicer place to swim etc.

Not much in the way of beer but the city does have more michelin star restaurants per citizen than anywhere else in europe. Pinxtos and reserva vino tinto all the way

I thought it would be a long shot lads. But bar Nestor for Steak and Rioja sounds like a lovely alternative.

Cheers

yeah, unfortunately beer in Spain just comes in one style: lager. Stick to Mahou (pronounced mouw) and Alhambra and avoid Cruzcampo and San Miguel. The other trick is to drink sangria, tinto verano and pacharan (which is an after dinner drink). Otherwise, spanish wines have really been coming on in leaps and bounds recently. I've had some smashing riberos and navarras.
