I was thinking about this some more. They have a great selection of beers on draft, but except for the porters, it's definitely more geared to the hophead crowd. I think there should be room for something like a malty English bitter like 'Black Sheep Ale'.

It's like Against the Grain but in a location more convenient for me. Nothing special or different about it, just that the market seems to now support more than one or two specialist beer pubs in the city centre. I can see myself darkening it's doors a lot in the near future.

There was one cask engine there but nothing was on last night, a case of watch this space. Nice selection on tap, but if I have one criticism I was disappointed that there wasn't a single stout on. Stormy Port was off and there was a problem with the Dark Arts tap when I ordered so there wasn't even a porter. Teething problems, but they need to have something ready for the people who come in and ask for a Guinness.

Elisabeth was drinking half pints and they were pretty reasonably priced when compared to the price of a pint. Great to have both Punk IPA and 5am Saint on tap, I am suffering a bit from Brew Dog Edinburgh withdrawal symptoms. We did discuss how Brew Dock and Brew Dog do sound similar, hopefully nothing will come of it. Especially if my dream of BrewDog Dublin comes to pass.

I had a couple of pints there last night and as the lads said nothing new but my view of that is that I like their other pubs and don't think they need anything too different!

Hope it works well for them as I need a decent local near work!

well called in there last night with a friend and had a few beers. its in my opinion the best location bar possably the airport for irish craft beer being beside one of the main train stations and dublins main bus depot. i hope to see lots of tourists coming in and leave having tryd some real irish beer.

the pub itslef is nice with a fresh coat of paint that is not the same as the black sheep its got more of a blueish tinge. bar downstairs and more seating upstairs in a nice well spaced out arrangement. my stool was being made up so i will have to return but will do so with wife and kids when the food is up and running.

staff seemd on the ball and friendly i was able to taste before buying and for one belgum beer was glad i did
also had the cop on to refuse service to three individualls that i would not have served

beer slection was good but not as good as the black sheep and whisky slection was limited as well but they were only open a day so we will see.

bad points the toilets could use a updating but nothing too serious and no beer garden but theres nothing to be done about that.

me and my friend then headed to the black sheep for a couple more via the luas...... tbc

From a transport perspective it's a great location alright.

A few different groups of Americans came in when we were there, dunno if they were working in the IFSC, or tourists. Now that I think of it it's probably the former -- would American tourists be happy not to have Guinness?

What sort of individuals?

Well done on the stool BTW! I'll keep an eye out.

trainer wering rough as a bears ar5e and swearing quite loudly at the prospect of not having guinness.

as for the ameiricans the staff were happy to explain that they had a far superiour stout on tap from o haras and offer a taste to a fellow beside me who was happy to drink it. hell if they didnt fancy irish beer there was enough bottles of import to choose from. i understand that oharas have a fairly large export market i can only hope that a bar like this will grow that market and strenghtn irish craft breweries
