Have to say, I don't get out to the pub as often as I would like. Usual story that life gets in the way. When I do it is normally local and nothing local serves craft beer. End up with bottles of Erdinger or such and the prices are just silly. Doesn't encourage me to go pub drinking, since I brew better beer myself. My local pub experience is that they don't give a shite about what I want so why should I go out to them? Taxi prices stop me going further afield. My current view is to save up for a month or so and then treat the wife to a weekend away, going somewhere that I can get craft beer and she can feel like I am doing it for her! Double win for me and zero win for the local pubs. However, the cost of beer, whether craft or macro, is still cost prohibitive.
