Fitzgerald's Sandycove Beer Menu 14 years 6 months ago #1

This local pub has been making big effort to get some decent beers in. In fact they now have a beer menu and a beer of the week. Last week it was Thwaites IPA which was seriously good. When you compare it against the Smithwicks PIA (which they also have) there is simply no comparison.

Also have Moosehead IPA, quite a few english ales and Belgian beers. Nice pub and very friendly bar staff.

Great pub!!! they've had a few good ales for ages but always kept them hidden down the end. At times i went in and found myself drinking guinness before i remembered "the fridge down the end" <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->
The beer menu/blackboard is good - I cant miss it now.
They just need to get some irish micro stuff in!!

...
Had the thwaites there a couple of weeks ago - it wasnt bad.
A few weeks ago they had the Fyne Ales beers - but havent seen them there in a while. (you can get them in eurospar, theyre good!!)

These now have oharas Irish Pale Ale in bottles.
The owner said they were expecting oharas stout in during the week too. That was last weekend.
Thebeernut if you see this can you stick them back into the directory.

I'm at Fitzgeralds at the moment; the only IRISH craft beer they currently carry is Oharas pale.

They've got a world beer menu with 14 world beers, though.
As Jamesm pointed out they claim to have plans to carry more Irish beer once the stocks of bottled foreign beers thin out; non-committal on draft Irish craft beer, though. Think I'll stick to the FXB pub in Monkstown and the inn in Dalkey until then.

Fresh draft Oharas stout has put a spell on me...
I think for the first time in history, I may have a "usual" now.
