Ok just joined this thing so my first post - don't know if it's too late. Just returned from a three year stint in Belgium and was living near Ghent. Great spot - very atmospheric town with plenty of interesting bars and beers..... extremely lax closing times in the better bars and some interesting spots around Paterschulle. Everything is within walking distance there or else do this: they have a type of a bike tour there. Basically it's a bar on wheels with about 10 seats around the bar. The bar man steers the thing while the people at the bar peddle the thing - Can you, imagine one of these things taring through temple bar! Can't remember the name of the company so you'd have to do a bit of research - but this is defenately a nice mode of transport for a stag. Also accomodation can be tough to get if you don't book early, specially on weekends.
