had a couple of pints of O'Haras stout in O'Neills yesterday....at €5.50 a pint...what a rip off. Prices like that certainly aren't gonna help it sell

Yeah, I had one with my lunch today and was similarly horrified.

The bar boy summoned his manager to the till:
"What's O'Hara's?"
"It rings in as Stella."

Plus they've given the font a dreadful position in the corner of the bar where no-one will see it.

And it was a terrible pint too, with about two inches of head on it. Plus, at nitrogenated temperatures, you just don't appreciate how much better than Guinness it is.

If it's going to be on draught they should drop the whole big creamy head thing. Leave that to the macros and concentrate on having stout that tastes of something, either with less nitrogen, like MM Imperial, or from the bottle.

aye a huge head on mine too..had to get the girl to get rid of it which mean sloppy beer all down the side of my glass (nice O'Haras glass though in fairness)

The problem with the head is that O Hara's requires its on gas bottle with a different mix.O Neill's probably have it on the gas system for all the other draught's.

Even when we had it on it's gas it was brutally high, and way too soft.
Ely Chq at the IFSC do a good pint if you are ever down that way.

Yeah, I've had a few good pints of it in Ely HQ. I guess my expectations are unreasonably high.

How hard is it to brew it suitable for the normal stout gas mix?

My server couldn't find the O'Hara's glass either, so I wasn't even able to do my bit to advertise Irish craft beer and generally demonstrate that I'm better than normal people

5.50 a go for a pint of O'Hara's is indeed a bit of a rip-off to put it mildy! Also s pity that a bar which takes on a new drink will not give it some proiminence to announce its arrival.

I am not into all the technical stuff but in the Bierhaus in Cork we always get a decent pint of O'Hara's so someone is doing it right!!!! - Always a lovely pint.
