My local "Ernie's Bar" in Wicklow Town is now serving Staropramen, Stella Artois and Hoegaarden on tap. I'm not so sure how long the Hoegaarden will last...I don't think it's getting many takers and the pint glasses are like flower pots and heavy too.... might put the ladies off!
But all credit to them for trying something different.
Hoegaarden pint glasses are awesome. Huge big heavy things, look like they hold about a gallon, but are actually just a pint. I have one at home that fell into my kitchen from a passing spaceship or something....

It may be good for variety generally, though I'll be happy if it just puts the shits up Heineken a bit for trying to take control of the wheat beer sector.

Is Heineken behind the Paulaner taps that keep popping up ? When I asked for it in my local, the barman called it a pint of "wife beater". The 5.4% abv is well hidden in Paulaner.
