Best Beer Cities - Lonely Planet Poll 15 years 10 months ago #1

People were given six beer cities to rate.

It looks like most respondents confused "best beer cities" with "best drinking cities"

Munich came first, Portland came last <!-- s:shock: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_eek.gif" alt=":shock:" title="Shocked" /><!-- s:shock: -->

Dublin came fourth, well ahead of London and just behind Bruges and Prague <!-- s:shock: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_eek.gif" alt=":shock:" title="Shocked" /><!-- s:shock: -->

Madness but but poll was not about Cities that produce the best beer, it was more about the environment in which you drink the beer.
Dublin has some truly outstanding pubs and great craic but the choice of beer is lacking.

I've never been anywhere better than brussels for having a few beers....And i didnt rate bruge at all for having beers either, although sitting around the square or beside a canal drinking is pretty nice!

Actually I thought Bruges was great.[/url:2flvzjyo]

I would have liked to explore it a little more but I was only there on a day trip.

@Saruman, can you give us your rundown of the top 5 best Dublin/Irish pubs?

I think The Palace Bar might be my favourite.
