Publicans are unique set of business people; in any other line of business when profits fall you don’t raise the price. You go out and attract new custom or you don’t survive.

That's something I've often commented on myself.
Here in Cork, the pubs that are generally doing well have some sort of a selection of quality beers - and I don't just mean Erdinger

im always open to new beers at the moment at last count we had early 60 beers. there always something i havent heard of or drunk before, thats part of the challenge of being a publican, changing peoples outlook on beer and seeing their surprise when the beer you suggest blows them away and they come back again and again.

any chance the bierhaus can get a hit list similar to the B&C ...ie a list of 20 beers and once you complete it you get somthing eg pic in a hall of fame ? this might help encourage people drinking differnet beers from time to time...which benifits everyone
