TOPIC:

an hour in dublin? 16 years 2 weeks ago #1

I'm passing through Dublin tomorrow and have an hour or so to spend in the centre, which I hope to spend trying as many of the irish beers and I can cram in <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->, but will probably keep it to one pub. The B&C would be the usual port of call but with the Porterhouse festival on would one of those have the edge at the moment, and if so which one would ye recommend? Also do the Porterhouses do off-sales?
Cheers!

With Easter Stout on cask (I think), I'd say the Bull & Castle is the one to hit. Follow it with an O'Hara's IPA and take some bottled Brainblásta and Oyster stout away with you.

I don't think the Porterhouse does off sales, and if I were picking on I'd go for Central for Copperhead and Bruinette over Temple Bar's keg Easter Stout and Amber.

Sounds good, cheers for that lads. I'll probably hit the B&C so, probably by 5 if anyone's around and fancys a pint.

Belated hello Geoff (just reading your post now). Was that you at the upstairs bar? I had a pint of cask Goods Store. Nice stuff.

Also had a very nice TSB in PH templebar. The barman there said they'd have Plain on cask today.
