Lads I went there last night so here are the impressions.

The pub itself is very nice, comfy seats and laid out very nice in a booth style setting.

It is like a cross between Victorian and American.

They have Ireland's only dedicated hot wings menu (they serve other food too) including the worlds hottest* they claim.
I went for the second hottest and I am glad I did because they were pretty damn hot. Normally hot wings over here are useless and at most have a few Jalapeño peppers thrown in which lets face it, are not all that hot. These burned considerably but also had a lovely flavour. They were our starter.
I had ribs and chips, my wife a steak sandwich and they were €9.95 each.

Also had two bottles of Belfast Blonde, reason I did that was I was driving so I only had half of mine and gave the rest to my wife as I know she will drink it. These unfortunately were charged as €5 each and not €3.50 so rather than complain I just did not tip as that was tip enough.

Service was slow but being a Tuesday night it would not be expected to be a busy night.

I really enjoyed the whole experience though and do recommend it.

The food overall was not as good as the B&C except their speciality of wings, they were beyond any wings I have ever had in this country and are on par with what I am used to in the US.

*If you finish the [i:l1j11es2]Deathmatch[/i:l1j11es2] wings you get your name engraved on something. You have to sign a waiver before you get the wings indicating you agree to be burned alive and you have to be over 18 years old

There were some kids running around that I was tempted to offer a hot wing too. I am a sadist yes but it was my wife's suggestion too

thing is though, that extra €1.50 won't go to the worker, it just goes into the till!

I've heard some people complain for years that tipping isn't common enough in Ireland but with the bloody price of stuff can you blame us?! I can't imagine any scenario where I'd tip outside of getting a good deal. Dublin's pubs and eating establishments haven't grasped this supposed free market "competition" concept!

I know it goes in the till. I myself only tip if the service deserves it.
My wife being American is of a different persuasion

why didn't you ask why they overcharged you (not complain, just enquire)?

Yeah, but the staff should really be having a quick glance at the bill to make sure they aren't overcharging for anything, so they've nobody to blame but themselves.

Because I just wanted to get home and had already given them my card when I noticed the drinks price. They were marked down as kopparberg which was offensive to me so I am not sure I could have held my anger in check
