Exploding casks at B & C 16 years 5 months ago #1

Geoff asked me to let everyone know what happens when a Cask decides to gush beer everywhere and why there can sometimes be no cask on.

I put a picture on my blog here.[/url:1osr7fle]

Should I take this to mean that there is no cask beer in B & C at the moment? Was going to go tonight

Bear in mind that this is only an issue with dry hopped casks. Once you break the seal on the cask, the hop cubes expand forcing the beer out.

The brewers at O Hara's have assured me that the new batches will not suffer as much from this problem.

Well the Goods Store IPA was on cask anyway. It was a fresh batch and my first time trying it. It was so good that as soon as I tasted it I was pissed off that I left so long before getting around to trying it. Just perfect.
