My girlfriend and I are heading for a few days to Oberstdorf, Germany in Decemeber for a few days skiing. Anybody been? I've also heard rumours of a brew pub there, anybody able to shed some light?

I'm heading there in March for a wedding as it happens. There's a local brewery in Kempten, called Allgauer Brauhaus if that helps

Hmmm, Dampfbier Brauerei? I got all excited when I thought that soneone was actually producing a Dampfbier commercialy, but they just seem to put the word Dampfbier in front of all of their beers, so I think it's just the name of the brewery.

You can only visit on a Monday apparently, so plan that in if you want to have a look around the place.

I can't tell if they actually produce dampfbier, they talk about cooling it to 8c for fermentation and then lagering for a month at 1c, so it's not a dampfbier fermented at high temps then.

They attach a sign as well that has a notice from earlier times:
